I designed this promotional book for Penn Litho to commemorate the company’s 70th birthday. It was distributed to new and existing clients. I administered the entire project in design, writing, photography, page assembly, rip/trap/imposition, and plate output.
We submitted this piece for a design competition held by the Print Industries Association of Southern California. It won the Gold award from the PIASC for Self Promotion and Marketing in General Advertising.
These are sample two-page spreads.
The company closed its doors years later, but its legacy as one of the most successful in-line finishing printers in the U.S. lives on in this History of Print.
Boerne Meeting Room was a rental space offered to local businesses who needed an intimate setting to conduct events. I assembled the website using Wordpress, took the photos of the facilities myself, and incorporated stock imagery provided by Balt (the manufacturer of the modular conference tables) and the City of Boerne. Flash plugins were integrated for interactive photo galleries.
Karve Recruiting was the concept of a recruiter who was passionate about board sports so we intertwined the concept with a play on words, “Let us help you Karve your career.” I designed the logo and website to include themes of competitiveness and high performance.
In this WordPress site I created, I developed a method to release job postings and receive inquiries from employers and prospective employees. This recruiter has since joined another firm so the site is now offline.
A group of people shared a vision to raise $1.5 million to build a women’s shelter in Kendall County, Texas. Fundraising began with 5 women who enlisted my help to create a campaign and branding visuals to encourage people to support this cause, starting with their 41 mile walk around the county to spread the word. I did not create the Kendall County Women’s Shelter logo, but I did create the marketing materials and online campaign tying in with our image of the 5 women walking for this global cause.
The organizers of the KCWS raised more than they needed to break ground on the shelter and I had the privilege of touring the facility on opening day.
At Kalypso’s annual work retreat, the Operations Team acted in a version of “Top Chef” to play out a competition of “Ops” chefs who would describe their recipes for corporate policies. I created the slide presentation displayed behind them on stage, accompanied by a “cookbook” of operational recipes.
George Young, a Kalypso co-founder, presents his yearly predictions on innovation, regulations, and other business-related topics to Kalypso followers. He’s also the lead singer of a punk band and he wanted an edgy look for his list. I took his photo and composed with imagery to convey a broadcast announcement of his predictions.
This brochure demonstrates the capabilities of the Fulfillment department at Penn Litho, featuring its one-stop-shopping benefits. I administered the project in design, photography, page assembly, rip/trap/imposition, and plate output.
Using simple treatments in typography, I set this Kalypso invitation in a style to emulate a secret agent memo.
KRASH is also known as new hire orientation for Kalypso employees. This was a vinyl banner designed for the conference entrance. I did not design the “K” seal, but designed the KRASH logo and superpower theme.
