“The Kalypso Story” is told every year at Kalypso’s annual retreat by George Young, one of Kalypso’s co-founders. He wanted a sketchy hand-drawn cartoon style for this book to tell the story of Kalypso’s humble beginnings with a history of how it has evolved to its present growth. I worked with another artist Anthony Brinegar who provided the character sketches and with some art direction, composed his poses into layouts I put together with other drawings and characters. Here are a few pages from the front of the book.
I managed countless projects with another designer at Kalypso, Karina Munoz, where we’d collaborate on ideas and often times would hand iterations back and forth until finalization. I also directed a summer intern Sterling Quinn who helped us with graphics for presentation, templates, and motion bumpers. The following samples are pieces that I helped steer to completion with these talented designers.
These are stills taken from looping motion bumpers designed in collaboration with Karina Munoz and Kalypso’s summer intern Sterling Quinn. They were developed for use as bumpers to display between presentations at an annual conference.
